EMDR Therapy

Reprocess the past. Live more fully in the present.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful, evidence-based therapy that helps individuals heal from the emotional distress caused by disturbing life experiences. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR focuses on helping the brain reprocess memories that have become “stuck,” allowing the nervous system to shift out of fight-or-flight responses and into regulation and clarity. Using bilateral stimulation—typically in the form of eye movements, tapping, or tones—EMDR activates both sides of the brain while you briefly revisit distressing memories in a structured and supported way. This process helps reduce the emotional intensity of those memories and allows you to update the meaning you’ve assigned to them. EMDR is effective for a wide range of concerns, including: Trauma and PTSD Anxiety and panic Low self-esteem and shame Phobias Grief and loss Performance anxiety Distressing childhood experiences Whether you’re carrying the weight of a single traumatic event or a lifetime of smaller wounds, EMDR can help you release old patterns, reduce emotional reactivity, and reconnect with a sense of safety and self-trust.
